Dr. Karyn Grossman
A board-certified dermatologist in private practice in Santa Monica and New York City, Karyn Grossman, MD, specializes in dermatology and dermatologic surgery, including state-of-the-art cosmetic and laser procedures. She was chief of the division of dermatology at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica for 10 years as well as an attending physician at the University of Southern California Medical Center.
Her clients represent some of the most famous faces in the world. Dr. Grossman’s clients depend on her thorough straightforward and personal approach to the care of their skin and particularly her commitment to natural results. Grossman was named one of five “Hot Derms” by Harper’s Bazaar and listed as one of the top cosmetic surgeons by Town & Country, Tattler, Vogue, NY Times and More Magazine.
Dr. Grossman has extensive experience in helping develop and launch skin care lines for some of the most prominent companies in the world. She was part of the Estee Lauder Academy Awards Dream Team and was also the doctor behind Estee Lauder’s Prescriptives brand. She worked with the EL research and development team to develop the line, and alongside the PR division to help with marketing and promotion. Other brands Dr. Grossman has been associated with include: Prada skin care, Garnier, Oil of Olay, St. Ives and Vaseline. Because of her vast experience with product and the field of dermatology, she has a respected relationship with the press and is often called upon for interviews, quotes and recommendations.
Grossman has published a variety of articles in the dermatologic literature, ranging from basic science research articles to those on cosmetic dermatology, and has authored numerous textbook chapters on hair loss, chemical peels, fat injection techniques, laser treatments and treatment of facial scars. She also has presented various studies at the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the American Society of Lasers in Surgery and Medicine, and the Manhattan Eye and Eye International plastic surgery meeting.
